SDsPH PHP Delivery Plans

SDsPH Public Health Priority (PHP) Delivery Plans.

The SDsPH, Public Health Scotland, Scottish Government and COSLA are currently considering their role and developing areas of work to progress the PHPs.  Delivery Plans and accompanying driver diagrams for each PHP will identify what individual SDsPH will do locally to lead and support activity in meeting each of the PHPs, as well as developing the necessary links with partners to embed delivery.

High Level Statements (January 2020)

As a first stage, high level statements are being developed to set out clearly – for each priority – what can be expected from SDsPH in delivering leadership. A high level statement will need to cover:

  • what interventions / activities SDsPH will be priorities for local delivery by themselves and their teams;
  • what national activities we require to support local activities / interventions; and
  • what are the critical stakeholders within local systems that SDsPH will seek to ensure their full engagement in delivery.

As such, each high level statement will provide a visible commitment to action and a “direction of travel” for the more detailed delivery plan based on the SBAR format.

Delivery Plans and Driver Diagrams (March 2020)

The Delivery Plans will be developed by March 2020.  Each plan will develop in partnership through special interest groups or a specific delivery group and will be supported by an explicit driver diagram and action plan. We expect that as the Delivery Plans are developed and implemented, the SDsPH will engage with a wider set of stakeholders from throughout the whole system.  The Scottish Health Promotion Managers and Speciality Registrars are supporting the Delivery Plan development.
